Art Projects
Check out some of the awesome art projects completed by Ms. Schmitz Beginning Visual Art and Intermediate Art classes! A description of the projects are below:

Art 1: Linear Perspective Environments

In this project, the Beginning Art 1 students wrapped up our study of creating the Illusions of Space & Depth by using Linear Perspective. With discussions of architecture, engineering, and city planning circulating constantly, the student artists drew up and constructed their own unique environments using simple lines and the mathematical methods of Linear Perspective.

Art 2: Embroidered Crest/Sigil

This sewing project takes an inside look at symbolic art making. From weaving, to sewing, to knitting and crocheting, to embroidery: Textiles and textile art has been used in many different contexts throughout history. Families can trace their lineage through signage and symbolism on cloth! Crests or sigils have been used as representation and story-telling embroidered on their clothing, banners, tapestries, etc. This norm has changed but is not far removed in modern society with the boom and evolution of fashion for all. Fashion and design choices can make statements; the brands and logos worn can say a lot about a person. The Intermediate Art 2 students created their own personal representations, using the centuries-old medium of embroidery to tell a story in visual textiles.
